After the coronavirus pandemic put paid to the 2020 International Series, the NFL returns to London this
weekend as the Atlanta Falcons take on the New York Jets at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham hosted its first two NFL games back in 2019 but has had to wait two years for the league’s
eagerly-anticipated return, after all planned overseas games were moved back to the US last year in the
midst of the pandemic.
This year’s two-game series kicks off with the Jets and their rookie quarterback Zach Wilson looking to
build on last weekend’s first win of the season, against the Tennessee Titans.
They face a Falcons side who have been in decline in recent years, having reached the Super Bowl only
five seasons ago, and with veteran quarterback Matt Ryan struggling to live up to former highs.
